At best count, we are around 41 days to the first day of spring! As a deep freeze settles over Indiana, I know we all long for that time of refreshing breezes, sun, flowers and blue skies. If you like the temps in the 70's and you would like that year round, then move to San Diego, CA! And if you favor cold weather then you know you can move to a northern state and/or Alaska!!
Everywhere we go, we are all equally affected by weather. It can influence our moods, our physical body aches and pains (I know someone that has arthritic pain with every weather system change) and daily activities. And the weather is something we have in common with everyone we meet! "Cold enough for ya?" we might hear at the gas station or the grocery. The Sunday morning fellowship hour is "complicated" for me, personally, as the Willman's, Gordon, and Mary Whalin are all in Florida. So yesterday with our single digits they were talking about whether or not to go to the pool!! (joking). They all deserve the rest!
Lent is a word in Latin for "lengthening of days." As we go through Lent, beginning next week, the days get a little longer, more daylight, more sun and the hope for beautiful weather on Easter. So as we say in Indiana, “If you don't like the weather, just wait, it will change!" Thank God our Lord never changes, and I remind us again of the lovely verse in Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow." Thanks be to God!
Grace and much Peace in the pieces,
