From our Lenten Devotional A Story to Tell:

Mark 14:55-56, 61-64 says, “Now the chief priests and the whole council were looking for testimony against Jesus to put him to death; but they found none. For many gave false testimony against him, and their testimony did not agree….But (Jesus) was silent and did not answer. Again the high priest asked him, ‘Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?’ Jesus said, ‘I am….’ Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, ‘Why do we still need witnesses? You have heard his blasphemy!’

To ponder:

We need to look at Jesus until we can look out at the world with his kind eyes. The world no longer trusts Christians who “love Jesus” but do not seem to love anything else. - Richard Rohr, The Universal Christ

May God bless you deeply during this Holy Week and upcoming Easter season!
