Welcome summer! Today is the first day of summer for this year 2021. Summertime always brings back childhood memories for me (and maybe for you as well). I remember getting out of school around Memorial Day for three months! I remember family vacations and playing games with neighborhood kids! In my high school years we moved to a condominium complex that had a swimming pool literally right in front of our home!

Needless to say, many summer days and weekends were at the pool. I have a memory of one of the moms in that complex holding dance lessons for the teens in the clubhouse! Summer is designed to slow us down. It’s a time to gather with friends and family, cookouts and lazy naps on the porch.

May this summer ahead bring many new memories of the grace and love of God for us all. Enjoy, get that fresh air and be at peace for we have “God with us”, Immanuel, by our side. And that’s just in time for new memories to come.
