Pastor’s Top 3 for St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church

December 21, 2021

The Advent devotional books have helped us grow in the faith as we traverse these 4 weeks of Advent. They go all the way through the Day of Epiphany, January 6th so we can be encouraged daily. Through these, or any other devotional books we make available at both churches, you and I can be encouraged in the love of Christ! The very tenet of our faith: This babe born in the manger, grew and lived and felt what we live and feel. He died for our sins, but that was not the end of the story. He rose again and defeated death so we may all have eternal life. This is an incredible love.

The elementary school children were performing the Christmas program. The auditorium was filled with family, friends and school staff and teachers. The children were at the end of the stage and each held a letter spelling out CHRISTMAS LOVE! This was how the program would conclude.

However, little Cindy held her "M" upside down by accident. A quiet hush filled the packed auditorium. Then a roar of applause as the children spelled out CHRISTWAS LOVE.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, Christ WAS love, Christ IS Love, and Christ will always be love! May that be felt deeply in your hearts as you go through this week. May you and yours be blessed and accept the invitation into the Christmas story this Christmas Eve. And may that blessing extend to us into 2022 as two congregations God loves!  Amen!
