Blessed ones:
My heart overflows with thanksgiving after the joy of our worship together yesterday for my Installation as Pastor. Wasn't it wonderful to be together as a Shared Ministry of siblings in Christ? Sharing in the joint choir, fellowship together at the luncheon table, and greeting one another in love and grace, it was a really great day for our ministry.
Thank you, thank you one and all. To those who came but I didn't get to talk with, thank you. To those who set up and provided food and drink thank you, thank you! I am deeply touched by the outreach, the many cards and gifts I received and the many of you who greeted me and met my family. It was just an awesome day, and yes, it feels really good to be officially installed as your Pastor!!
Installing the two Council's was symbolic of the "new thing" God is doing among us! Let's get on with our God who calls us to Invite friends/family/neighbors/co-workers to come to church. Let's Give as God has "givan" us with our tithes and offerings, and let's be a prayerful church. We pray for one another, please pray for me, and for the ones yet to come. And when they do show up, we welcome and love them and invite them into our families of faith.
TOP THREE THINGS TO KNOW FOR THIS LAST WEEK OF MAY:
1) St. Andrews Thursday night worship, May 26th, 7 p.m. indoors. There will be no worship service at St. A's this Sunday. Faith folks, If you have Memorial Day weekend plans, feel free to come worship Thursday. Faith will have their normal 9 a.m. service Sunday, the 29th!
2) Faith Formation will not meet this Sunday, May 29th, due to Memorial Day Holiday. Please pick up a copy of Max Lucado's book "Traveling Light" and join us for chapters 8 and 9 discussion Sunday, June 5th at 7 p.m on Zoom.
3) Don Boden, Connection Ministries, sponsors of Friendship Bible Study, will be our guest speaker on Sunday June 5th, both churches. We will collect a free will offering for the ministry, specifically for their Summer Friendship Gathering, Messiah Lutheran, Brownsburg, July 12-14. Donations are needed to offset expenses, and volunteers to help as well.
Please take time this coming Memorial Day weekend to remember those who have gone before us in love and prayer.
God's Peace, Pastor Doug
