A favorite hymn comes to mind as I have my morning prayer time: "How can I keep from singing?" (By Eva Cassidy).
Part of the lyric is "no storm can shake my inmost calm while to that rock I'm clinging. Since Love is Lord of heaven and earth, how can I keep from singing!"
Indeed my friends, no matter what happens for us personally, or as a congregation, nothing can shake our inmost calm! Jesus is the Lord of heaven and earth, and we are loved!! Amen!
TOP 3 THINGS TO KNOW FOR THIS FIRST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER:
1) Remember "Power Surge" from Sunday: the consonants mark the various aspects of discipleship! Pray, Worship Read the Bible, Serve, Relate, and Give.
2) Laundry ministry tonight and Clothes Closet Saturday 10-1, please pray and donate to these important ministries. Volunteers always needed!
3) Holy Communion change begins this Sunday! Wine or grape juice will be served at the altar by a Communion assistant! The cart will be eliminated and you will no longer need to bring up your wine/grape juice!! (Kits will still be available).
