Friends:
While the Easter holiday is behind us, as a church we are in the Easter Season! This Sunday, the 23rd will be the Third Sunday of Easter. We are "of" Easter, in other words, we are Easter people. We believe and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and believe in this Good News we call the Gospel.
The Easter season goes for 6 weeks ending on May 21rst. The Day of Pentecost is May 28th, but due to the race, we will worship (as we do every year) Thursday, May 25th time to be announced. This is the season of celebrating the Holy Spirit, the Holy Breath of God among us. Holy Trinity Sunday will be on June 4th.
Pentecost turns into what we sometimes call the "long green season" due to the green color of the paraments. This season is also called "Ordinary Time" in some cases. This takes us right thru the end of October to Reformation Sunday.
A calendar listing this out, and the subsequent Sunday readings, is on the table in the narthex/lobby!
