My dog, Buddy, has a hired dog walker to come and get him out twice a week. With my back and leg pain, I cannot walk him so for a small fee they'll come get him out and let him do his business!! Today the lady wrote a note about how sweet he is and how much she appreciates his joy in walking.
Aren't our dogs the best?? If you are not a dog person, no worries. Cats are the same way! They (usually, maybe not so much with cats) love us unconditionally and are our sweet companions. Sometimes as Buddy aggravates me, I remember he's a dog and he wants to play and run around, and chew up stuff!
The unconditional love of our pets is nothing compared to the unconditional love of God in Christ for you and me! This love raises us from death, forgives our sins and gives us new life and hope. Thanks be to God!
TOP THREE THINGS TO KNOW FOR THIS LAST WEEK OF APRIL:
1) Former member David Schmaltz will be laid to rest Thursday morning with visitation from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. at Conkle funeral home in Speedway. We hold his son, George, and extended family in our prayers. Rest in peace, David. We also pray for Nadine Coles, our treasurer, who lost her mother over the weekend, Joyce Coles. Rest in peace Joyce, and prayers for Nadine and family. (service info not known at this typing).
2) Worship time changes May 7th and St. Andrews moves to 9 a.m. for worship, followed by Adult Bible Study at 10:15. Remember you are always welcomed to worship with the saints at Faith Lutheran at 11 a.m.
3) Council retreat Saturday, 9-12, to review all that was shared at the Congregational Meeting. No decision will be made without involving the congregation. If you have comments, questions please contact me or your Shepherd on Council,
Peace be with you,
Pastor Doug
