Happy Thanks-Givan:
Woody, my college buddy would use this greeting every November, for the whole month. He thought it was funny, instead of saying Happy Thanksgiving, he would offer this other saying instead: "Happy Thanks-Givan" making a play with my last name.
It's always been kind of odd to me that we spend this month wishing one another a happy thanksgiving. Isn't that every day? The Bible is clear at least that we should always be thankful people for all the blessing God has "givan" us! (LOL). In 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 is a rich couple of verses with the highlight being: "Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
As we go through these next 2 weeks before the Thanksgiving Holiday, practice being thankful all day long. Say it to others often! These two words carry such deep meaning: Thank you! Say it, write it in text messages, emails or greeting cards. Let other people know you are a thankful person.
When I completed a Dale Carnegie Sales Training class, we were invited to send a note to someone thanking them for being in our lives. That was in the mid 90's and I've been sending greeting cards ever since. Thank you for being you!
