O God of Creation, you have blessed us with the changing of the seasons.
As we welcome the autumn months,
may the earlier setting of the sun
remind us to take time to rest.
May the brilliant colors of the leaves
remind us of the wonder of your creation.
May the steam of our breath in the cool air
remind us that it is you who give us the breath of life.
May the harvest from the fields
remind us of the abundance we have been given
and bounty we are to share with others.
May the dying of summer's spirit
remind us of your great promise that death
is temporary and life is eternal.
We praise you for your goodness forever and ever.
Our picnic was a wonderful success, despite cool breezes we were able to enjoy fellowship and great food. Thanks to Jan Smith and many others who came, pitched in, and helped with set up and clean up.

September 11th
Honor and Remember
“Remember the hours after September 11th when we came together as one to answer the attack against our homeland. We drew strength when our firefighters ran up stairs and risked their lives so that others might live; when rescuers rushed into smoke and fire at the Pentagon; when the men and women of Flight 93 sacrificed themselves to save our nation’s Capitol; when flags were hanging from front porches all across America, and strangers became friends. It was the worst day we have ever seen, but it brought out the best in all of us.” – Former Secretary of State John Kerry
“If we learn nothing else from this tragedy, we learn that life is short, and there is no time for hate.”
Sandy Dahl, wife of United Flight 93 pilot Jason Dahl
