Friends:
As we enter this new month of June we enter summer! I used to ask folks to remember their church as you travel or vacation with added giving. Now we are all online, and I remind you to go into your giving and increase the amount. We can all do that and have a nice impact on our giving.
I also want to call out "all hands on deck" and invite your attendance every Sunday this summer. We need to sit closer to the front so we can sound better and everyone's worship will be uplifted. With shrinking numbers and all of you spread out, the on line viewer is not hearing us. Thursday night last week attendance was way down, and it was hard to follow along and know where we were in the hymn. Thank you in advance for attending, singing with full voice closer to the front and for your giving.
As always, invite a friend or neighbor to come with you. We are NOT closing as of today. We are not closed. We have ministries God is calling us to handle. Volunteers are needed for the Laundry Ministry for only two hours on a Wednesday. Thank God for Lori Becker, at Faith, who wanted to experience that ministry and help out. She has taken a few Wednesdays over the last couple of months as I understand things. So, we need to stay strong as God calls us to continue to worship in our church home, to spread the Gospel good news, and welcome and invite our neighbors. In several places in the Bible God calls us to "stand firm" and continue forward. Or, as I said last week, "KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON!"
TOP THREE THINGS TO KNOW FOR THIS LAST WEEK OF MAY:
1) June 5-7 is our Synod Assembly (regional conference) and join me in praying for Darren Reaman and Karen Havlik our delegates. We pray for them and all who attend, downtown Indy. (Visitors are welcomed btw, check with Synod for cost.)
2) Thank God for the Hermerding family! They met me for Holy Communion on Memorial Day and the little ones played, Ashleigh worked in the Clothes Closet, and Matt "putzed" around the building getting a few things done. Lexi and I met for Confirmation and she chose the message for the outside sign and helped me with the letters. Look and see next time you pass by church. On top of this, I noticed John Charlesworth walking the property picking up trash! Thank you John!!
3) June 8th is the Day of Pentecost and everyone is invited to wear red as we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit! Remember, June 22, after church a pitch in and listening meeting as we discuss together God's call on our congregation for the future. NO decisions have been made and please reach out to a Council member and ask any questions you may have!
God be with you until we meet again!
