Friends -
This is a very important week in the life of St. Andrew's leading up to our Congregational Meeting this Sunday, the 25th, after worship.
At this meeting we will vote on a budget, a new Council member, and the resolution from Council recommending Holy Closure!
Holy Closure, and all the relative information leading to that has been discussed and presented to all of you in the congregation. This includes a visit from an IK Synod rep on December 7th. It was Missy Schroeder and she also offered the message that day with a meeting after worship.
No one at St. Andrew's has been thru Holy Closure before. We anticipate that it will take a year, maybe less, to take care of all the details and plans. We will need help from many people. Closing will not be easy on any of us, I am available for grief support, and counseling as we say goodbye. Remember Ecclesiastes 3:1 "There is a time to live (85 years!) and a time to die." This verse reminds us God loves death and endings as well as beginnings.
If we go this route, either route, we going together as a family of faith. Our faith is centered on Jesus, Hebrew's calls the "pioneer and perfector" (12:2) of our faith.
Either vote does not mean no services in February! We will continue to carry on and serve and worship the Lord with joy and thanks giving.
Please join me in prayer for our congregation, Council and Pastor!
