Pastor Doug Givan was born and grew up on the eastside of Indianapolis attending Warren Central High school, class of '78.
He went to college at Indiana University, class of '82, majoring in Sales and Marketing. He worked in Sales for 2 different companies until entering Trinity Lutheran Seminary in 1996 graduating with a Masters in Divinity in 2000.
He accepted his first call to Messiah Lutheran in Brownsburg and was Ordained September 23, 2000. He served 5 years as Associate Pastor before moving to Christ Lutheran, Crawfordsville, in 2005.
Doug served as Pastor for 6 years prior to being accepted as a Chaplain Resident in 2011 at St Vincent hospital in Indianapolis. He joined their Spiritual Care team as Staff Chaplain in 2012 and served the Lord there until July 3, 2020.
He has now accepted the call to shared ministry with Faith Lutheran, Avon, and St Andrew's in Speedway beginning July 11, 2020.
Pastor Doug has two children Emily, 29, who is a teacher currently working as a Nanny. Son, Joel, 20, is a second year student at Ball State University. His hobbies are walks on the Monon Trail, jigsaw puzzles, and reading.
