Main Premise

God loves us just the way we are, but refuses to leave us this way. God wants us to be more like Jesus. God wants us to have a heart like Jesus. (page 3, older book).

Chapter 11: A Rejoicing Heart

In the book Just Like Jesus, Max Lucado lifts up the "lost and found" events in the Gospel of Luke, chapter 15. Three items: a sheep, a coin and a son are lost, and there is great rejoicing when they are found. In the same way, we who are lost in our sinful condition are found in Jesus. We are brought back again and again to the Cross, to Grace, love and hope, and we can be glad and rejoice as a result. To me, rejoicing is a reminder to "refill" ourselves with joy. Not as the world gives, but as God gives to us in Jesus Christ.
