Good day family of faith at St. Andrews:

This is a big week in our country, and I invite you to join me in prayer for safety and protection for all those attending and securing. I pray for peace throughout our land as I know you do as well. This is a particular week where you may be tempted to watch more TV news than normal.

Please remember to control how much of the coverage you watch on TV or your various devices. It is addicting on some level and not healthy in the long term for mind, body, or soul!

This morning, for example, as I am working on my laptop I have on my TV a Netflix movie called The Naked Gun! It is this type of slapstick comedy I love to help me take my own mind off the events of Jan. 6th and this coming week.

Obviously this goofy humor and risque comedy is not for everyone (I rarely watch but along with the movie Airplane, it's my kind of humor). The point is please find what feeds your soul during these days.

I believe to get through these days we need to be fed. I hope and pray you watch the "Midweek Moment!" to be encouraged along the way. Please share this and all the links with family and friends. If you are on Facebook you can share as it helps share the Gospel with others. Hang in there, friends, and let me know if I can help you along the way. Meanwhile, in the midst of chaos, turn on some Netflix or some other movie and remember "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow" (Hebrews 13:8).

God's Peace,
Pastor Doug
