Greetings!
A routine part of our liturgy is on my mind today. "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all." This is lifted right out of Scripture in 2 Corinthians 13:14. Many of the words in the liturgy (order of service) come from Scripture.

This one is called the Apostolic Greeting because it originally came from the Apostle Paul as he greeted the church in Corinth. We use it as our greeting to and with one another as we begin worship. Think about these words you hear every week:
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ: Yes, please, grace upon grace and in another place in the Bible Jesus says "My grace is sufficient for you!" (2 Cor. 12:9)
The Love of God: always, forever and ever, sins wiped clean, love for all
Communion of the Holy Spirit: United with God, we have this gift thru Jesus and his work on the Cross. We are in "communion" with God and the Holy Spirit and Jesus..we are connected and belong.
Use these words to encourage you thru difficult times!

TOP THREE THINGS TO KNOW FOR THE WEEK OF JULY 10TH:
1) This Sunday we will look at Jehovah Witnesses rather than the previously scheduled Hindu faith tradition. I explain why in the Midweek moment.
2) Joint Worship July 30th at 10 a.m. at Faith Lutheran. Plan to come over to Faith, it's not that long of a drive, and enjoy worship and fellowship with your brothers and sisters in the faith!
3) Pray for the members of our family: Crystal Wall, Dale Willman and Bobbie Moore dealing with cancer, Suzanne Deboer recovering at home,
and Kenny Smith in the loss of his wife.

God be with you until we meet again!
