Today is the 5th Sunday in Lent.
And our “march” toward Easter is ongoing. We are invited in our First Lesson today to remember the covenant God made between us as told to us by the prophet Jeremiah. God’s promises all came true in Christ Jesus as we come to daily understand the story of the Gospel.
The Gospel is about the love of God for all people. Today in our Lenten devotional “A Story to Tell” a man asks Jesus which commandment is first of all. Here Jesus gives him what we have come to call “The Great Commandment.” We are to love God with our whole heart, mind and strength and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves.
I pray your self love grows and builds as we journey together in Lent headed to Easter. As we understand God’s freeing, unconditional love for us we are then sent out to love our neighbor and to love God all the more!! God bless you today in worship and stay strong and let’s finish Lent and move into Holy Week with the love of God held close.
