Creation Waiting for Redemption

“We know that the whole creation has been groaning in labor pains until now; and not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly while we wait for adoption, the redemption of our bodies.” (Romans 8:22-23 NRSV)

None of us get to choose the circumstance of our birth—time, date, location, or parents. Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances, yet each has been created by God in God’s own image. Because it is God who has brought us into being, we can consider one another brothers and sisters.
