Family of Faith:

The war in Ukraine is so hard and difficult to watch. The horror of what we are seeing on television is devastating and it's so frustrating and enrages us. There is nowhere to go with all these feelings, opinions, and hurt and fear. We cry out in prayer for those who are fleeing their country and our hearts grieve over the loss of innocent lives.

Mr. Rogers had a famous quote when horror comes face to face with our daily lives. He said, "When I was a boy and would see scary things on television, my mother would say to me 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping."'

On one of the news channels, I saw a reporter in a large building (I think this was just over the border in Poland) and large rooms were stacked with cases of water bottles, diapers, clothing, shoes, and hygiene items! It was an awesome sight...a real light in the darkness of all that is going on.

We can't control over all we are seeing, but let's think about ways we can help. It may not be Poland, or Ukraine, but just look around. Help is needed everywhere!
